BLZN - given name, Benjamin Miedema - is an American producer, rapper, and DJ based in Tokyo, Japan, crafting authentic beats for the unconventional soul. Raised on the sounds of Kanye West, JAY-Z, J. Cole, Kid Cudi, BLZN always dreamed of making music—but fear and expectation kept him silent. Like many, he was pushed toward a traditional life: get the degree, land the corporate job.

 

But after losing his father during college, everything changed. That moment made him realize life was too short to live for anyone else. He stopped waiting and started creating.

 

“After my father passed away, something inside me needed to express emotions I couldn’t put into words. The only time I truly felt those emotions was when I was listening to music.”

 

Now, BLZN fuses soulful production, introspective lyrics, and gritty energy into a sound that speaks to those who want more out of life, but don't quite fit in. After moving to Tokyo with just a laptop and a keyboard, he began producing for others, then started rapping on his own beats—blending vulnerable storytelling with underground aesthetics.
